Kokrobite is a little fishing village, about 30 km (19 miles) west of Accra, in Ghana. This village is situated on the sprawling beach of Gold Coast of the Atlantic Ocean, and is a destination of most tourist because of its serene and natural environment.

There is one great little hostel called Big Milly's Backyard which has become a major destination for tourists. Big Milly's Backyard is a resort onwed by an English Lady and her Ghanaian husband. It has air-conditioned rooms to suit different tastes and a nice restaurant that serves lobster and other dishes. This makes the Kokrobite a pleasurable place with many tourists at the beach, traders and local fishermen.

Kokrobite Beach Resort

Kokorbite beach resort is a major tourist site not only because of Big Milly's Backyard but Academy of African Music and Arts (AAMA), which makes the resort lively by providing a place of relaxation, food, african music, weekend dance and drumming entertainment. Other side attractions include Ocean View Garden Restaurant (Mary and Gloria's place) run by two Ghaianaian ladies, serves tasty and delicious grilled fish, crispy chips and pizza with cheese; and Kokrobite Garden Restaurant (Frenco's place) owned by an Italian named Fenco; offers Italian dishes including margarita pizza.

The Cool Breeze Hotel, recently built offers western-style accomodation for tourist and other visitors, parties, conferences and other events. Like other other hotels, it has many leisure facilities including a swimming pool which provides a much safer alternative for swimming since swimming in the sea is dangerous because of the strong currents at the beach. This hotel is located on the right coming from Accra and is about five minute-walk from the beach with a welcoming seaview and a refreshing breeze.
