It is celebrated annually by the people of Tema in the Greater Accra Region. There is a durbar of chiefs and also attended by the people of Tema and its environs to celebrate the recovery of the Sakumono Lagoon. This is a lagoon believed to be one that helps the Tema people get bumper harvests.
