On the first Saturday of September, the chiefs and people of Cape Coast Traditional area celebrate Fetu Afahye. Just like in the Asafutufiam festival where the Asafo warriors play a very important role, they play a vital role here too. There is a durbar and processions by the chiefs in their beautiful palanquins and umbrellas. The members of the Asafo warrior group appear in full regalia to add a war like scene to the festival. There is a sacrifice made to the 77 deities in the Fetu area. The sacrifices are made to ask for the blessings and protection of the Deities. Visitors and foreigners from different countries come to this festival to have fun and make merry with the locals in the community.
