The Afadjato Mountain is the highest peak in Ghana. Although some circles say it is not tall enough to be called a mountain, the highland has been referred to as such by many other visitors and experts. ‘Afadjato’ was derived from the term ‘Avadzato’ which in Ewe means ‘to be at war with the bush’. The mountain is located in the Agumatsa Range near the village of Liati Wote and Gldi close to the Togo border. It stands at 2905 (about 880 meters) feet above sea level.

From the peak, courageous mountain climbers are rewarded with a panoramic view of the country. There is a recreational park made available provided at the base of the highland, so that weary visitors can have some rest and freshen up.

There is a self-catering kitchen facility located at the visitor centre where groups or individuals can have some food.

Close to the highest peak is the highest waterfall in Ghana; the Wli Waterfall. Visitors who come to Afadjato can therefore also pay a visit to the Wli fall
